PHP Web Development Language

Essential have been providing PHP web development solutions for the past 6 years for both internally used company applications and customer facing external websites.

What is It?

PHP is a web programming language developed primarily as a way of including dynamic web content into a static HTML page. Although it has now grown well beyond that remit and now encompasses a huge range of web development technologies including SOAP, XML-RPC, REST, etc. Now in it's fith revision PHP is the biggest web development language in the world.

PHP 4

We originally started our development using PHP 4 although some of the more 'mature' team members have experience of using PHP 3. Although we no longer actively develop web sites using PHP 4 we do maintain a number of legacy systems and services for clients who require PHP 4.

PHP 5

As our primary web development language we've now moved onto using PHP 5 and are looking forward to the eventual release of PHP 6. We also make use of a number of PEAR libraries when required to ensure the most robust and complete solutions can be exploited for each client task.
